When you’re 18 weeks...

Question

Do you say you’re in your 5th month.. or do you say 4 months until your 5th month is over?
I’m so confused. Haha... help!

You aren’t five months until you finish the 5th month. (Like you aren’t 30 until you complete your 30th year.) I say 4 months until 5 months from the date of my last menstrual period.

See I don’t understand this because 16 weeks = 4 months, 20 weeks = 5 months so I’m just confused how they change the math with this?!

It works like your birthday age works. You dont day you’re 20 til you’ve been alive for 20 years. When you’ve lived 20 years you say you’re 20.

So my last period started Aug 1. 4 weeks later is Aug 29. So every time I reach the 29th of each month, I mark it as another month. Sept 29th = 2 months. Oct 29th = 3 months. Nov 29th = 4 months. And so Dec 29th = 5 months. So I will not say I’m 5 months pregnant til I’ve reached the 5 month mark. Even though I’m currently completing the 5th month, I have not arrived at it yet. Just like I don’t say I’m 23 years old. I’m 22. My birthday is feb 9. So when I reach feb 9, I will then say I’m 23.
