“God Letter” by Albert Einstein

German, Albert Einstein, 1954, handwrites the following (see below) in a 1 ½ page private letter to philosopher Eric Gutkind, the letter belonged to the Gutkind family until 2008 when it was sold at Auction. I can deeply resonate with Albert Einstein’s words, for me he perfectly articulates himself... he could not be anymore concise, clear, and kind.

He is one of my all time favourites!! Check out the article attached

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Quotes in the “God Letter” 1954...

“The word God is for me nothing but the expression and product of human weaknesses," he writes. "The Bible a collection of venerable but still rather primitive legends”, “No interpretation, no matter how subtle, can [for me] change anything about this."

“A calm and humble life will bring more happiness than the pursuit of success and the constant restlessness that comes with it."

"The Jewish people to whom I gladly belong, and in whose mentality I feel profoundly anchored, still for me does not have any different kind of dignity from all other peoples”, “for me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstition”

QUESTION

at this stage in Albert Einstein’s life in 1954, 74 yrs old (died at 75yrs), he is of sound mind... with everything he ever knew to be true and false... in this private and personal handwritten letter to Eric... do you think Albert Einstein is wrong? could he be wrong at this stage? Do you think the “god letter” written by Albert Einstein should be taken seriously by anyone? Who?

p.s before I’m attacked with “assumptions” and bashing, I would just quickly like to say... personally... regardless of whether Albert Einstein is wrong or not, after all that has literally ever been said and done (by EVERYONE ever!!) we still simply just don’t know which deity is real and which is not... and I honestly don’t think we’ll ever really know, I think we should just be humble and grateful for what we actually have... and that’s what’s right in front of us... LiFE : ) people + planet 🌏

p.p.s I would totally spend $3million on this letter if I could.
