When did you start packing your hospital bag?

And when did you or when do you plan to have it completed? And of course, what did you pack? I’m a young first time mom so I don’t have any experience or many friends with experience!

I went with a simple approach with my bag, and have been packing a little at a time I'm 31 weeks:
-2 pairs of black leggings, Granny panties & Big shirt 
-Travel toiletries for myself and husband 
-Going home outfit for baby
-Cute swaddle/matching headband set for pictures
- warm socks, robe, nursing night gown 
-Nursing bra, nipple cream, nursing pads
- Adult diapers
- Small bottle of witch hazel & Tucks pads (I CANT STRESS THE TUCKS PADS ENOUGH, YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS)
-Scarf for my hair
- Phone charger
That's all 🤷🏾‍♀️. Husband can go home and change since we are only 15 mins from hospital.

All I packed was clothes for me and baby, a few swaddle blankets, phone charger, toothbrushes and toothpaste. They provided everything else for mom and baby. From nipple cream to shampoo to diapers and wipes. It’s a one to two day stay so you really wouldn’t need much.

Oops. Still haven’t done that. For some reason with number 4 I’m in no rush to do anything lol. I will be 37 weeks Monday and I’m still super chill like whatever happens happens, if I’m not packed I will just wear hospital gown and send husband out later. I have everything I need for baby already bc I just had #3 last year.

Nursing tank
Nursing bra
Hoodie/tank (I’ll wear this home)
Robe
Thick ass pads
Adult diapers
Travel size toiletries for myself and my husband. (Shampoo/conditioner, dry shampoo, lotion, deodorant, makeup wipes, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, bodywash, chapstick, hairties)
Nipple butter
Prenatals 
Breast pads
Tucks
Dermaplast
Earbuds
Long iPhone charger
iPad
Boppy
Car seat & base
For baby:
2 Newborn outfits and 1 0-3 month outfit. 
Hats, mittens, blanket, wipes, binkey
(He’ll wear one of the outfits going home.. my hospital supplies clothes, diapers, swaddles and hats for them while they are there but I wanted a specific kind of wipes to be used so I packed those)
And then my husband will just have his clothes and work bag. 
Id def recommend getting travel size toiletries, that way you can just toss them before you come home and you don’t have to keep unpacking and repacking the bag. All of that stuff seems like a lot but it all fit with room to spare in one bag.

The day my dr said I was getting induced that night. I was not happy. I hated the MAs at the clinic and the automatic cuffs gave me high blood pressure. It was super annoying because she kept saying preeclampsia and your age... but I digress. I was gonna pack when my contractions started to distract myself but I didn't get that experience.

I'm packing at 32 weeks and since im not giving birth in a hospital but rather a midwife run birthing center, I get to leave 4 hours after birth. So I'm only bringing a newborn outfit, a 0-3 outfit, comfy clothes for me to go home in, a blanket, and obviously the car seat. I'll shower and all that at home.

Packing sooner than later is always better because then your prepared for the unknown (obviously you have no idea exactly when you’re going to have your baby). I packed at 32 weeks. Honestly I WAY overpacked. All you really need is an outfit to go home in, a blanket if it’s cold out and you want one for going home, and that’s truly about it. Usually the hospital will provide diapers, wipes, and formula (if you’re not breastfeeding).
