Bf leaving for college soon slightly worried

So my bf and I have been dating for almost a year now (it will be a year on the 16th) and we are really competed to each especially sense it's a long distance relationship. So he's 17 I'm 16 and he all be going to college soon, he has already been accepted into 3 colleges in his state ( I'm from the west coast he's southern) and he's still waiting on letters back from the colleges he applied to that are on the west coast. I have been cheated on multiple times in past relationships and I know that my current bf would never do that to me but I still have insecurities about relationships and especially about myself due to harmful past relationships. I just want advice on a better way to talk about this with me bf because whenever we do talk about I just keep thinking about past relationships that ended badly which I don't want this one to end the same way because it is sincerely the best, happiest and healthiest relationships I've ever had, he feels like it's he's fault that I'm worried about him going to college and he doesn't know how to change it.
