Laying on your back?

Question

Went to get checked at doctor yesterday because I was having a pushing/ slight pain near my vagina, my cervix is closed and thick baby a is just really low. However the doctor told me to lay on my back , I didn't think I was supposed to?

Oh, that's really weird. Did they find anything or somethings wrong? I'd expect to be told to lay on my sides since laying on your back decreases blood flow to your baby!

It's fine to lay on your back. The only thing that is wrong with it is if you lay on your back long enough, the weight of your belly can cut off circulation to your legs or make it hard to breathe. I am 29 weeks with twins and I lay on my back a lot, as long as my head is elevated it is comfortable. And it won't harm the babies :)

I think you are fine. Just maybe try to prop yourself up. Your just not supposed to lay on your back for a long time.

You can still lay on your back. As long as you are elevated or at an angle. If doctors had a problem with you laying on your back completely. Why would they check us laying down?

Well the doctor didn't say that you had to lay down on your back for hours..? Its only bad to lay on your back for several amount of hours. If youre just there for a check up, laying on your back for a few minutes isn't going to do anything.
