Anyone travelled by plane yet?

I am going to America with my parents after Christmas. We are driving down then my daughter and I are flying back. She will be around five months when we are flying and the flight should just be 2.5 to three hours. Anyone have tips on how they have travelled with their August baby? Or how their little ones did?
I guess I should mention it’s a 36 hour car ride..... 🤦‍♀️

Flying at this age is a piece of cake. The car ride will be what will be harder. 
With flying, they need to be sucking at take off and landing (nurse, bottle, bink). When going through security, wear your baby. It helps keep your hands free to put stuff on the belt and do whatever. Bring the car seat all the way up to the gate, then when you get to the gate, ask if there are any empty seats. If there are, they will move you to a row with an empty seat next to you. Then bring the car seat on the plane and put baby in the car seat (rear facing), in his/her own seat. If there isn’t an empty seat, you tell the gate desk that you wanna gate check the car seat

I haven’t travelled by plane yet, but lots of long car rides and some train rides and I’d say for the car ride just make lots of stops and take it easy. The plane should be easy enough though, it’s not too different from trains I feel. You should however feed your baby during take off and landing because of the air pressure makes their ears hurt. 
Most importantly is to just go with the flow and don’t stress. It’ll be over soon and don’t try to be TOO considerate of others as it’ll just make you more stressed and it’ll probably just worsen whatever your baby is fussing about.
