Please Ladies

Can someone please give insight on what may be going on...

So my period is irregular and weve been trying to conceive but Ive started to bleed a light brown, then it was bright red for about 15 min with a large clot when going to the bathroom and then it was back to a brown discharge. Any idea what could be going on? I was hoping for implantation but theres a clot and it cant be my period because it would be full blown by now. Its been like day 4 now with clot on day 2.. and discharge has almost stopped completely.
