When should I pump???

Question

My husband’s company is having a Christmas party in a town an hour from where we live so we will be gone from 3pm until 11pm. Should I bring my pump and pump there??? How do you handle events like this? My daughter is EBF, she’s only had like one or two bottles and she’ll need two while I’m gone. 
Do you pump for things like this? Do you pump when you get home? Or maybe on the car ride up there?

You can’t go 8 hours without letting the milk out. I once brought my pump to a wedding but just ended up hand expressing into the toilet because it was easier (and I wasn’t going to save the alcohol laced milk anyways.)
So you can pump in a quiet spot or hand express or get an adaptor so you can pump in the car. Also if you’re going to save the milk, you’ll probably need a little lunch cooler. You should pump according to babys regular feeding schedule. 
One more thing: I’d test out bottle feeding with baby one more time before you go. Just to be 100% sure she won’t refuse it for the caregiver while you’re gone.

I would pump based on her nursing schedule so say in those hours she eats twice like you said she’d need two bottles well I’d pump when she was suppose to be nursing. I don’t think your supply would take a hit off of one night but I would rather be safe than sorry too!

You’ll have to pump. No way you can go that long. You could possibly drag out your time past 4-5 hours, but if you get engorged, you should pump. You may have to locate a space to pump or go back out to your vehicle. If you pump on the way down like right before you get there, you could possibly wait until 7-8:30 to pump and then pump on the way home.

I bought a hand pump for instances like this. We had our first date night sans baby this weekend and I snuck to the bathroom after dinner and used my hand pump and a Hakka to provide some relief. It didn’t completely empty me, but allowed me to enjoy the rest of my night pain free.
