Confused on chances of miscarriage. Maybe it differs from country to country?

I post a lot on the forums with polls and stuff because I'm freaking can't get over my fear of miscarriage. I'm so paranoid. 
Well anyways I just had someone tell me you shouldn't annouce at 11-12 weeks because your still in the first trimester and you have a 20 percent chance of mistake. 20 percent?!?!? That's so high. Everything I've read you have a 15 percent chance if your younger than 30 but as time progresses it gets less and less. 
By 11 weeks its 2 percent from literally everything I've looked at. And it's always less than 3 percent after hearing the heartbeat.
I live in California, USA. Maybe in America the studies are different? Just curious that's all :)

Miscarriage is extremely common...most women trying to have multiple kids have one.... It is scary  But it is your body's way of discontinuing an unhealthy pregnancy in most cases. No  Matter the exact percentage You're still at risk for one.  Obviously your risk goes down as the pregnancy progresses.  It may be in your best interests to enjoy the time you are pregnant, Because such high anxiety can ruin ur experience of being pregnant and is really bad for the baby! Best of luck!

I know it sounds mean, but there isn't anything you can do if you are going to miscarry. Try and enjoy your pregnancy as things like this often aren't in our control and if you can't change something, try not to worry about it.

I'm from Europe and the last one is way closer to our statistics as well.
It's not 20% at 12 weeks. If you see a heartbeat from week 9 it's already crazy low. It's so unlikely. Yes, it happens. Unfortunately. But there are so many pregnancies that goes just as they're supposed to.

I’ll be real with you. The risk of miscarriage is there until 19 weeks. From 20 weeks on it goes from risk of miscarriage to risk of stillbirth. You can miscarry after a heartbeat is found, though they claim the risk is lower.  Miscarriage and stillbirth are both unavoidable, there’s nothing that can be done to prevent it.
The risk does not differ from country to country because it’s based on science which has been proven. The studies may just differ due to the amount of participation or lack thereof.

It's 20% ish in the first trimester in general but drops considerably as you get closer to the second. It's only like 5% at 8 weeks. It is all just an average of course but statistics are on your side!

I assume that the 20% refers to the first trimester generally. Use the miscarriage probability calculator on datayze if you need reassurance (google it). The statistics cited in the US actually often come from European studies. But there isn’t really anything you can do, other than not smoke and not drink caffeine. Once babies get established, assuming they are healthy and you are, they are pretty tough.

Just don’t think about it! Yikes! Self fulfilling prophecy girl. Get those negative thoughts out of your head. Go focus on baby registries or names. Why drive yourself crazy worrying about something that may never happen??
