My son is 2 1/2 years old. I delivered him via emergency c-section at 32 weeks due to preeclampsia.

I am pregnant with my second son, (38 weeks) and have a c-section planned for 12/20, so next Thursday.

I’m terrified. I keep having flashbacks of the table, the lights, the straps, and the exposure. Then the pain and the endless recovery. I was put under due to circumstance but this time I will be awake.

I was told I could push if I went into labor before the 20th but I was receiving progesterone treatment until week 36 and tried everything over and over to go into labor but nothing is working.

What is a planned c-section like? I am told it’s not as bad but my fear is taking over and really need reassurance.
