OPKs! How long does an LH surge last?

Question

First time I’ve ever had a positive. Now I’m worried tests may be faulty or my body is trying to ovulate but can’t. We have been ttc #2 for almost 2 years and ovulation is our issue 🤦🏻‍♀️

So ovulation tests won’t tell you if you’ve definitely ovulated (basal body temp is more accurate) but it’s looking very likely that you will ovulate from this. From the time you get your positive you will probably ovulate 12-36hrs later so keep BDing for the next few days. It takes me 3 days or so for the positive to turn negative. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how long the positive is there for but just that it’s there so congrats!  (it depends on length of LH surge and how quickly your body metabolises the hormone).
