When is the most appropriate time to test?

I’m on CD 32. Normally AF arrives promptly at 8am on CD 28. I have been having a mild cramping for a week almost two weeks. I didn’t confirm Ov this month but my CM was appropriate at the right time. As well as slight OvSpotting. I have been Ttc for almost two years and I am 27yo. I’m trying to avoid obsession over tests bc i have had so many evap lines and invalid tests in the past. What is your go to day for testing? Do you wait until you are a whole week late?! If I did ovulate on the day I think i did, I am currently 17 dpo and I would totally be getting accurate answers by now right?!
