Blood?

I am 5 weeks 1 day and I have an appointment Thursday with my OB to confirm my pregnancy. Today I went to the bathroom and wiped and there was some blood. Should I be worried? I never bled during my one previous pregnancy. Anything to be worried about or should I go to the hospital?

Answer

That looks like old blood, but I’d call anyway. I had bleeding around 5 weeks and I got in for an early scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. I couldn’t see anything in the scan, but my OB was at least able to determine that nothing looked abnormal.
