Is there anybody else out there who is taking the royal route and skipping the baby shower like I am?

I hate it when all the attention is on me and ESPECIALLY when I LITERALLY weigh 80lbs more than I did pre pregnancy lmao 😂  should I reconsider and put my big girl pants on or is it an unecessary event I won’t regret skipping ?

My best friend started planning the shower before I was even pregnant! 😂 I don’t like being the center of attention either, so I usually dread events like this. But my family and close friends don’t live near me and they are all flying in for this weekend-long baby shower. My mom and bestie even rented two houses near mine for everyone to stay at. So I’m just excited to see everyone and have a chance to celebrate with them.

I haven’t really felt this need to have a baby shower but all my mommy friends/family say you get a lot of the things you will need during them and it’s a good experience celebration for the you and the baby.. so I pry will have one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Second baby, no shower for me my mom and sister are helping me with bigger items. We’ve moved a lot so my friends are scattered. I don’t like being the center of attention so I’m very happy with out one.

Mom is planning and tbh i need help with all the baby gear ... how else to afford EVERYTHING you need? While also planning for maternity leave and saving for baby seems really tough. Mine will be coed so my bf is there too to share the attention and I told my
Mom I don’t want to open the presents during the shower while everyone is just sitting around watching and bored.

I don't really want a baby shower but my SIL will probably try to throw one anyways because that's the kind of person she is. I had no intention of having a bridal shower last year when I got married and she insisted on throwing one anyways even though like 5 people were there.

This is my third baby and I haven’t had baby showers for my last two. It was uncomfortable for me, just awkward. So we bought everything for our last two on our own.

Same! 🙌🏻 my mom and sister-in-law are insisting they throw me one but i really don’t want it! Our wedding was low-key, not so that i would go and throw another unnecessary party 🤣 
Will only be getting the necessities anyway, and if anybody would like to help minus a party they’re most welcome, but I’ll politely pass on the shower 😣

First baby and not doing a shower. If we end up having one, it’s not because I want one LOL I feel like what’s the point...registry is on amazon, delivery is to us..wam bam, thank you ma’am! Don’t want to go and spend money having a shower when those funds can go toward our baby!

I hated all of the attention but it was a nice gesture to see all of my husbands family get together for my sake. We were given the crib but most of the other needed items we ended up purchasing. We are having a family Christmas baby celebration this time (our first is 9 years old). Less focus on me and more on the family as a whole.
