Ear piercing???

Question

Anyone get their childs ear pierced yet. Thinking if taking my 14mo this weekend to get them done. How did your child react to it? Cry for a second then it's fine? Take forever to heal?

Food for thought- ears don’t exactly grow perfectly so it’s not likely that the pierced hole will stay in its nicely centered position. There is also the painful but necessary cleaning of the piercing over time so that it heals properly and there is no infection. And the risk of the earring getting caught on things and the little one yanking it off and injuring herself. Unfortunately I have seen it all being a preschool teacher. One student had to have cosmetic surgery to reattach the pieces of her ear lobe, and unfortunately it doesn’t look quite right and probably never will. She’s also terrified if earrings now. Of course none of these things might affect you much and it is adorable.

Lol to those who are saying “it’s her body” I mean come on... what girl complains about getting their ears pierced? Who is like “I’m soo mad my mom pierced my ears as a baby! I would have never got them done!” 😂 but to each their own ☺️

Ill wait until she can decide herself regarding her own body. At the end of the day it’s her ears, not mine. If she wants to have them pierced in the future, she can do it then.

My daughter had hers done at six months old. She cried more from restraining her than from the piercing. Just watch out that now she’s older she won’t play with them too much

My baby had her pierced at 4 months. She screamed once and was done. I was shocked... I was the one crying before It happened lol. Now that your baby is much older, I suggest a lollipop... it worked when my baby had her vaccines 🤷🏽‍♀️

We took our daughter to get her ears pierced when she was three months old. We took her to a tattoo and piercing shop. She did not cry much. 👍🏾
