Because it has always been the ‘normal’. Hit times and people are changing! And I hate when others shame those who don’t want kids, think it’s the most unselfish thing!!

I mean... This question is pretty vague.. but I think most people who would say it's a "shame" would be the ones who are single and not looking to settle down, people who genuinely dislike children, and possible suitors who aren't quite ready for children yet if you have any children.. so they might say "it's a shame" Because they may have been interested in them until they realized that they have a child..and aren't interested going down that road.

Because some people think all life should be about is getting married and making babies. Who cares what other people think. Not everyone is meant to be a parent or wants to be or can be. It’s a choice, not a need.

I'm so proud of my friends who have admitted they don't! they understand what it takes to have kids and realized they don't/shouldn't have them. instead of having them and then not properly caring for them.

I think there are advantages to having kids and not having them. Some people just don't like kids, or can't have them. If you don't want kids you can focus on other things jobs, traveling, pets, hobbies etc. Nobody should feel shamed for having them or not having them.
