Can I leave this in the bassinet??

Not sure if I can leave this in a bassinet for a newborn. Know this is good for shaping their head but worried he might suffocate. 
If not when do i use it?

No. Their heads will round back out after a couple months and they start doing a lot more activities.  Nothing should be present in their sleeping area. When my son was just 6 weeks old somehow he managed to roll over while sleeping, that Boppy car seat thing could have suffocated him.

So just from my experience, I wouldn't use it all. My son was starting to get a flat head and we bought him this thinking it'd help and it made it 10x worse, he had to wear a helmet for 4 months to fix it.

No. Nothing in crib or bassinet except a snug fitting sheet on a firm mattress.

Flat, firm surfaces are where baby should sleep. Nothing else should be with them.
