Am I being TOO paranoid?
I’m due 09/01 and I can’t stop thinking about how much contact I want my newborn to have with friends and family.
My immune system was never the best, although I never qualified for a free NHS winter flu jab, I’d pay for it most years just because of how easily ill I got over the winter period. I’ve had it this year of course, as well as my whooping cough vaccination.
Everyone is so excited to meet my baby, but I can’t help think that too much contact before his 8 week vaccinations will make him become ill 😬 I had a friend whose baby was recently hospitalised due to catching something from another infant, and another friend’s baby had hand, foot and mouth disease and it’s not helping my anxiety. I have many friends and family that have young children, are around young children and that work with young children.
Obviously I know the flu jab doesn’t cover every illness my baby could potentially catch, but it’s a start.
Was anyone else this paranoid? As much as I want to show my little boy off I’m genuinely panicking someone will make him ill, and I’m highly contemplating making sure everyone is well enough, although I wouldn’t want to question someone’s health as I’d find it quite rude myself
