How long do you think two people should date before getting engaged?

Each relationship is different.. My husband and I were engaged after being together for only 2 months, we have been married 11 years and still going strong... some know right away and others need more time..

I think it's different for everyone. I know ppl that have gotten engaged after knowing each other for 3 months and they've been married ten plus years. And then I know ppl that have been together 5 years, got engaged, and now they're divorced. I do think living together first is a good idea. But not necessary.

My fiancé and I dated for 8 years before getting engaged. Theres no time limit of when to get engaged. We have a great relationship and us getting married will prob be no different

I agree with the others; it depends on the couple. I don’t really believe someone shows their “true colors” until they’ve been together for a couple of years though. Even myself - for me it’s a comfort thing though, not that I have bad qualities to hide. My husband and I were together 2.5 years before we got engaged and another 2.5 before we got married. It worked for us and there’s no surprises with either of us. I see too many posts on here about women whose husbands have done awful things to them, and when they elaborate a lot of them seemed to have hardly known them when they got married. But there are definitely couples that it works for.

That is something that should be left completely up to the two people in the relationship.  There are people who marry after a few weeks of dating celebrating their 50th anniversary.  Just like there are people who dated for years before getting married.  A time frame is not going to give you the magical ingredient to a successful marriage.   Marriage takes hard work, perseverance and countless acts of selflessness.  If you have two people who truly get that, you've got a great chance.

Honestly it’s different for everyone! If you know, you know... I clicked 1-2 years Because they say that’s how long it takes for the honeymoon phase to end or for you to reallyyyy get to know someone... but I know a couple who met and were married 3 months later...it’s been like 35 years now. I’ve been with my boyfriend for a couple months, but I know I want to marry the man. I’ve known him for 6 years, we started as best friends and the timing never worked out until now...but I am BEYOND happy where I’m at ❤️✨
