Cooper IUD Yea or Nay?

Question

I am wanting a non-hormonal, easy form of birth control and the hubby does NOT want to use condoms. I’m leaning towards the copper iud, but I’ve heard some bad things about those. 
Thoughts? Experiences? Stats?

I’ve had non hormonal IUD’s- Paragard. It can stay in for ten years, won’t affect my blood pressure as I’m now getting older and had bouts of high bp while on pills, no mood issues, and I got pregnant as soon as it came out. 
I’m 6 weeks postpartum and will be getting it again soon. The only thing some women experience for the first few cycles are heavier periods. My period would be heavier for the first two days than I was used to, but it went away maybe three months into having the iud

I love mine. No fuss and 10 years of protection. Yes the periods will be worse for a little while but it was nothing compared to the rage I had on hormones.

Was a huge fan of mine. Had it for over 5 years. First 3-6 months had heavier periods and cramping around my period but then it went back to normal. Highly recommend!

I had paragard for 5 years. Don't think I'll go that route again. I bled like a MF every month, I eventually started using menstrual cups because I would bleed through a super fat tampon every hour and all my underwear would get ruined. Bled through the menstrual cup a few times too, but it was much better. I felt so weak and crampy during my periods whilst I had never had those problems before. I somehow got more emotional on the copper IUD as well, pms was insane. It was never that bad when I was on the pill or using Nuvaring. I'm pregnant now and even with raging preggo hormones I feel emotionally much calmer than I did on the copper IUD. After giving birth I'll switch to hormonal contraception again.
