D&C alternative for miscarriage

I’ve been given 4 doses of misoprostol in hospital overnight and still haven’t passed the remaining tissue that was left from my miscarriage that began on the 15th of December. I was 9 and a half weeks along.

The nurse said it was likely I might require a D&C but I’m extremely apprehensive about it. The curettage is fine, but I don’t want to go through the cervix dilation. Simply because of the risk it poses to future pregnancies and the potential of creating an incompetent cervix.

I will even happily go under the knife and get a curette done ANY other way than via my cervix.

Is there other options other than dilation? Is there some kind of alternative procedure with curettage that I could bring up with the obstetrician doing the rounds this morning?

I’m really against dilating my cervix, I know it is a common procedure but I simply really don’t want to take the risk, I’m only 19 and I desperately want children in my future. I can’t risk my chances where possible.
