Breaking my water at a birthing center.
So with my first I had what they term a “precipitous labor” which means I had a less than 3 hour labor. I had my first in a birthing center in a tub. We barely got there in time, and I live 45 minutes from the birthing center. I’m having this baby at the same place but this time I have an appt on Saturday at 39+6 to have my water broken manually so I don’t have to worry about possibly not making it there on time. They have no meds whatsoever at the birthing center so my question is for the ladies that have been in the same situation, how long after they broke your water did you go into labor?
Update!: We got to the birthing center and I was dilated to a 5 so we went ahead with the plan to break the water. They broke it at 11:30am and I went into active labor at 5:20pm... baby was born in birthing tub after 46 minutes of active labor! He came out the first and only time I tried to push! It was so fast. If we had waited until I went into labor naturally, he would have been born in the car. So thankful everything went to plan!! 6lbs3oz 19.5”
