I’m divorced but kept my married last name and have no intention on changing it. My daughter from my marriage shares that name with me obviously and it makes her really happy. I’m about to have another child now and the father is still unsure as to whether or not he wants involvement. If he doesn’t, he won’t sign the birth certificate so the baby won’t have his surname anyway. But if he does sign it, that is an option. I want the baby to have my last name (current one) because that’s who I am, but my family thinks I’m being ridiculous. My ex husband has absolutely no issue with the baby’s last name being the same as his especially because we aren’t together, haven’t been for nearly a decade and everyone is aware of this. What surname would you go with?
