Hey moms some advice for a ftm here ?

Question

So baby is 12 days old 
By day 3/ 4 we were latching great and eating regularly plus supplementing with donor milk 
By our hospital release we were just in the breast.  
He cluster fed starting that day and regained all his lost weight and then some
Yesterday he cluster fed during the day instead of night
Last night all hell broke loose !
He was hungry and giving me his feeding cues 
But would struggle to latch and when he did latch, cry and I latch and then fuss 
I though maybe he was hot because he had a fleece on so I put him in cotton
I changed his dipaer
But still he wanted the breast and would fight with it when I tried to latch him
Called the hospital warm line they said he’s in a phase 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️
We spent most of the night skin to skin with him sleeping. This morning same thing. 
He rarely gets a paci unless I’m home alone with him and need a quick pee break
He rarely gets a bottle since being home because he’s always feeding and I never have a minute to pump 
Anyone have any idea what’s going on?

My daughter did the same last night. We currently have to supplement with formula due to her not getting enough to eat. I have a lactation appointment on Monday. Her latch is fine. Every doctor and nurse I’ve seen has said she has a great latch. Last night ended in tears and baby sleeping on my MIL so I could catch a break. She was acting hungry but would not latch for the life of her. Just kept pushing away. Hopefully your little one decided to latch again soon. My daughter hasn’t had any problems latching today.

Cluster feeding and changes to routine are super normal. It will take weeks to months for things to stabilize! My LO napped a lot yesterday and last night was super alert and wanting to feed and I was sooooo tired and the latching was not great. She napped on my chest a few times cause it was the only way I was getting any rest! Hang in there! Offer the breast as often as you can or as he wants and as he’s more satisfied eating you may get a few longer naps

The hospital, though not helpful at all, was right. Newborns are constantly going through developmental and growth spurts that cause they’re behavior and feedings to be all over the place. Some babies cluster feed all day and night & others just at a specific time. He may be going through a spurt. They do enter one 2-3 weeks after birth so he may be going through that. He also may have fussed at the Breast because as they cluster feed sometimes the let down isn’t as rushed as it is in the beginning so they get a little frustrated. Mine does this sometimes when we are in an all night cluster. Lots of cuddles and boob time and it should resolve soon!

Mine is 11 days old and he has been struggling with my right breast. I realized from pumping that that breast has a really heavy flow. When he latches it sounds like he is struggling to catch his breath and almost choking with a bunch of milk falling from his face. He then unlatches and tries again with the same result. He eventually ends up crying flailing his arms and legs and gets really frustrated. Not sure if this is exactly what you are experiencing. I have yet to find something that works to correct this and am beside myself. I feel so bad for him.
