Horse in athlete of the year nomination?

So I realize this isn’t a serious controversy, but how do you feel about this? Maybe I’m just a crazy animal lover, but I see no problem with acknowledging an animal as an athlete and their accomplishments. Many worthy athletes don’t get nominated, so I personally don’t get why they feel the need to single out Justify, but like I said, maybe I am just being the crazy animal lover. 😆

Lol it’s cute but pretty pointless. It’s not like the animal even knows what’s going on so it doesn’t make sense to nominate them for events like this. Made me chuckle a little tho 🤣

I have some ethical issues to horse racing, but that aside it seems fine to me.

The horse trainer won 5,000 races....maybe he should have been 4th, instead of the horse? I love horses, and this made me laugh, and is not serious to me...but, just sayin!

I run barrel horses and there is no doubt they are incredible athletes but horses don’t care about awards they just love the game. And there’s tons of awards in the horse world for them
