Cluster WHAT!?

Baby (18 days old) has been breastfeeding 1-2 times every single hour of this entire day. She’s barely been off the boob. No naps longer than 20 mins. I’ve cried. I’ve felt really down. This is SO HARD. Mamas I’d appreciate any encouragement you have!

Seriously I know it’s ROUGH but cluster feeding is short lived when it happens! Once you get past it, a normal feeding schedule will be a breeze. If you’re in the thick of it, get some snacks, Netflix, comfy clothes and a few bottles of water. Ride it out and once you emerge victorious, you’ll rightfully be proud of yourself!  Good luck! 🍀 ❤️

Just keep going. Between 12-16 weeks it gets So. Much. Easier. Get some snacks and drinks, find a comfortable place, bring your phone, charger, remote, and plant yourself until it’s over.

Also, after seeing a lactation consultant we realized that the baby was latching too low and needed to continuously eat because her latch was constricting the flow.  The LC got us set on a great nighttime feeding structure to maintain sanity.  It worked wonders for us!

I almost made the switch to formula during a particularly bad stretch. My baby would cluster for 10 hours at a time for 7 days in a row each spurt. ROUGH. But now I feel like I could conquer the world! You've got this mama!! Go go go! Staying super hydrated is the best advice I can give.

It’ll only last a day or two. You can do it, mama! 
The best advice I got during my newborn’s first cluster feeding session was to take a moment to myself. Hand your baby to someone and take a minute to let it all out and calm down. Your baby can sense when you’re upset and will get upset too.

I wanted to quit so bad until I fully understood what my daughter was doing. It’s normal to be a mess, we’ve all been there. If you have help at home, pass the baby off for a little and go relax (maybe a nice quite hot shower). My daughter is almost 8 months old now and as hard as it was, I miss those little moments. I would snuggle up on the couch with a big glass of water, a snack and the remote. Before you know it, it will pass. You Got This!!!
