Going crazy..student loans ?

I decided to ask you all about this because I've been sitting here going crazy and I love all you Glow ladies :) you're always a big help! I just got married last summer and I'm 20 years old. My husband has gone to college 4 years and doesn't have a degree yet but because we transferred he has a couple more years left. I have a year and a half and I just recently found out he has 36,000$ in student loans. I will end college with around 10,000$. I am freaking out because I feel like we are never going to repay everything. I was just wondering if you guys had any debt, how much (if you wouldn't mind sharing), and how you repayed/are repaying them. I'm 20 years old and I feel like the stress of being this far in debt already is making me insane.

My SO has about $45000 in debt and now makes about $130k/year and he's paying off his debt extremely quickly while me and him live way below our means while I still go to college.

I agree with the other ladies - you're actually doing quite well in the loan dept. None of my friends' are as low as mine and I graduated a state school with 20k. My brother is at 140k and my old roommate graduated with 200k. Don't worry too much. Just take one month at a time. Loan agencies will give you options. Try to pay a little above your minimum. It'll help keep interest down, and some companies count it as paid ahead so if you need to skip a month because on a financial emergency you can. Try not to do that, though.

I'm still a junior in college and I estimate about $15k when I graduate and a little less than half is already generating interest. I think it's wort but though and when I ask others how much they owe some say around $50k or more and some owe more than I for only a 2 year school. I did go to community college and only started loans when I transferred. Scholarships aren't as easy as some think. I graduated 2nd in class and active in clubs but won few. Most good scholarships went to athletes.

You aren't alone when it comes to worrying about paying back loans. I constantly do it, and if it helps, usually anyone who decides to go to college, ends up having to pay something back, eventually.

I had $70000 in loans and was able to pay it off in two years.  We paid a minimum of $500 every month but would pay more if we had it. Our first two tax returns went to the loan as well as my dowry. We just wanted it gone as soon as possible so we put in a lot of effort into paying it off.

Most of the people I know have student loans to repay, and the amounts range anywhere from less than $10k to $250k. Based on my personal experience, it's not too bad because as Kaitlyn said, the loan agencies are very flexible. You just have to pick the repayment plan that works best for you, and if you need, there is the option of deferment. Also, depending on what you'll be doing after school, some fields offer loan forgiveness.

I just graduated from law school, if I had to guess, I would say that more than 1/3 of my classmates have debt in the 6-figures. Work with your loan agency to make an affordable payment plan! They're usually VERY flexible. There are even deferment options if payments become a financial burden.
