Comment your stories of when you started your first period!

Story time cause I’m bored, but I’m curious about everybody else’s first period stories, so post yours!

So it was summer going into 6th grade (I was 12) and I was spending the night at my cousins house with my older sister after we spent the day at the amusement park. My sisters best friend called my sister to tell her that her younger sister (who is also my age and are somewhat friends) just started her period. So then my cousin and sister were like “oh you’ll probably start your period soon” and I was in such denial that I was ever gonna get my period so i was like nah, it’s gonna happen 😂. Well come the next day, I woke up and started having what I thought were stomach pains. (I was very uneducated about periods at the time so I didn’t know cramps were a thing).

When my sister and I got home we were in a hurry to change and everything to go swimming. While before I even got to put my bathing suit on, I went to the bathroom and BAM! Period blood in my underwear. I was so shocked and scared I literally just sat there almost in tears. I then hurried up and put tissue in my underwear because I didn’t know what else to do and when I walked out the bathroom my sister passed by and noticed the reaction I still had on my face.

The second she asked what was wrong I burst into tears and told her. Being the jerk older sister she was, she just laughed until she called over my grandma. While my grandma went to the store to grab pads, I called my mom who was currently out of town and just started bawling my eyes out to her. Everybody thought it was so funny how much i cried 😂. My grandma came back with pads and a snickers bar (been my holy grail for periods since) and told me to take a shower, put the pad on and just relax in bed.

I literally cried all day not only because I started my period but because I didn’t get to go swimming 😂. I also remember I showered like 4 times that day because I just felt so gross.
