Anyone have general anesthesia for a c-section?

How was it? How soon did you see the baby? How was recovery?

I had one also.. Saw the baby an hour later. Didn't get to hear his first cry or anything.. It still hurts. I had and emergency c section and the meds didn't work so I felt all the cutting. Worst experience

I did but that's only because mine was an emergency c-section. I remember going in the OR and right before I was put out but honestly don't remember much about when I woke up. I'm happy my daughter ended up healthy and alive but that's the part that saddens me about her birth. I wasn't able to see her first breath in this world and meeting her for the first time is just so hazy. If you have the option of general or just a spinal and being awake, I would choose the spinal. As for recovery, whether or not you have general or a spinal, it is major surgery. Painful and takes a while to recover.
