Drinking alcohol whilst trying to conceive?

I was just wondering do most people avoid all alcohol whilst trying to conceive? What do most people do? 
I keep finding conflicting advise so wanted to check with you guys before asking the nurse?

I'll put it this way... in the first 4 years or so of ttc I didn't touch hardly any alcohol, I'd maybe have a drink on Christmas and my birthday. Now 3 years later, after spending all of those years panicking I can safely say it's not gonna make much difference!! As long as you're not a long term alchoholic, a few drinks isn't going to disrupt anything.

people conceive drunk all the time. isn’t that why september is the most common birth month or something? because of all the drunk people on new year’s? lol. i’d “drink till it’s pink” as i’ve heard, and it’s not bad advice either.

I’ll only drink when AF comes and maybe one day after it’s over, but once we start BDing, drinking for me is a no-go. I also won’t eat sushi, limit caffeine and if I take a pain killer, only Tylenol, etc.. Basically live my life like I’m pregnant, just in case I am.

I never drank during that time. I just didn’t want to risk it. So it’s all personal preference
