Budgeting for Baby...

I’m not pregnant yet, I had 2 miscarriages last year and going on progesterone next week. I’m confident it’ll happen within the next few months. I’m a HUGE budgeter. I budget months ahead of time breaking things down by paychecks. I’m a preschool teacher, and I plan on taking off 2-3 months of work after baby is born, whenever that may be. If we were to conceive in the next month, I’ve got our budget ready for it. We should have roughly $5,000 in savings and with living off only my husbands paychecks, about $400-$500 left over each paycheck after all bills paid. So $1,000 a month for groceries, diapers, etc. Does that seem sufficient until I go back to work? Of course if it takes longer to conceive that’s more savings. I’m also an artist and do commissions on the side which is usually an extra $300ish a month. Thankfully I’m able to bring a child with me to work so I won’t have to pay for childcare in the future. I always overthink on money though. I just love to be prepared and plan as much as I can haha.
