How do I get my toddler to actually stay in bed? He currently has a crib and a very low twin bed in his room. Once he’s asleep he will sleep through the night in either but he will only fall asleep on his own in the crib. If I put him in bed I have to stay with him until he falls asleep or he will get up. Any tips?

He’s 20 months, and I also have a 2 month old who is outgrowing his bassinet and I would like to avoid buying a second crib.

I would gladly sit with my toddler until he falls asleep every night, but with a baby as well that just isn’t possible.
