Misdiagnosed miscarriage?

Question

Two weeks ago I went for an us and saw and heard the baby’s heartbeat. Today I had another us and she said the baby’s heart had stopped beating. She said I can wait for the miscarriage to happen on its own. Is there any chance that the baby could be okay and maybe they just didn’t see the heartbeat for some reason?

I asked for a scan at the hospital before the d&c just in case. It put my mind at ease.

I had a missed miscarriage after hearing the heartbeat twice. When you’ve seen the heartbeat and flicker and then just a lifeless screen, I’m sorry but I didn’t need a second opinion to confirm the news. Did the baby stop growing also? If you’re still measuring 9 weeks and no heartbeat, get a 2nd opinion but I don’t want to give you false hope. Sending positive energy your way 💓

Firstly, I am very sorry you are having to even ask this question. 
Could be. Usually before a D&C or any intervention they double check. For me tho. I went at 17w6d and Baby was fine. I went at 18w2d after a mind altering headache made me faint and baby had stopped.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this!!  I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks November 29th, I found out at the doctors office when they tried to find the heart beat and they couldn’t. The following day I had to have a D&C. Before my procedure, I asked my doctor for one final ultrasound and he was happy to do it, he knew it was very hard for us. Yet again they confirmed the heart had stopped. I’m so sorry! I knew I needed that last confirmation for my peace of mind going into the procedure. I’m wishing you nothing but the best!

My obgyn took another u/s a week later before  deciding  on a d&c.  It was correct unfortunately.

Were they trying to detect a heartbeat on the ultrasound again, or a hand Doppler?
