When can you learn the gender?!

I am beyond confused. This is my first pregnancy and everybody has been telling me different things. Google says 12 weeks with ultrasound, midwife and doctors are telling me week 20, everyone else is telling me somewhere in between?! We opted out of testing, so no blood but just ultrasound imaging. Our first and only ultrasound was at 7 weeks, and I will be 11 weeks tomorrow. What the heck?

Could see our boy at 14 weeks, genitals are completed by then so if u get a good shot u can tell, otherwise it’s confirmed at 20 weeks when they do the full check of baby

Most doctors will tell you at your 20 weeks anatomy ultrasound. Technically you can find out around 16-18 weeks via ultrasound but by 20 weeks it’s clear as to which boy or girl . If blood work was done to find out gender that can be from 9-10 weeks on .

So babies genitals start to differentiate at 14 weeks (there is a theory about babies at 12 weeks called angle of dangle but all babies have a nub at that point.) But some babies take longer to be clear than others. Its pretty safe by 16 weeks (3d places will do gender at 15 or 16 weeks). But doctors often wont even guess before 18 weeks so the 20 week anatomy scan is when people usually find out. We had a scan at 15 weeks 5 days and our girl had 3 distinct lines indicating girl.

I got my result with an at home blood test called sneak peek at ten weeks, confirmed with ultrasound at 13 weeks (tech looked for fun to see if sneak peak was correct), NIPT confirmed at 19 and anatomy scan confirmed at 20.

This goes based off of your doctors office. If they say 20 weeks you'll find out, then that's when they'll tell you. All offices do things differently. You have the choice to go to other places that offer private scans earlier to see the gender.

I had nipt done and found out at 14 weeks. Had it drawn at 12. I'm having a baby boy and so excited 💙💙💙 but I was told if I didn't get the nipt if have to wait till 20

Genitals begin forming at 12 weeks and look the same. You can begin trying to see with an elective ultrasound at 14 weeks. I saw my son’s gender at 14w5d. Doctors will not check for gender until 20 weeks.

16weeks with ultrasound. Your dr wont do it until your anatomy scan around 20weeks though. And 11weeks with blood.
