Inlaws coming for supper! But I'm new to cooking☹

So my inlaws are coming for supper and I wanna make meatballs in a crockpot. I've looked at some recipes online but at each recipe I've looked at say something different about the cook time. (I know just follow the recipe. But I want them to be good!)

1 recipe said to put the meatballs in the crockpot raw with a sauce and cook them.

Another said to broil the meatballs for a few minutes, before cooking them in the crock pot, so they dont fall apart. Most recipes said to cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.

What do u think I should do? I dont want them to fall apart but I want to do it the faster way. Which would be to put them in the crockpot raw.

Also what would you do for sides? I'm thinking a salad and mashed potatoes.🤷‍♀️

I would definitely broil them or fry them first so they’re a little crispy when they go in. And they won’t stick together.

Meatballs in a slow cooker with sauce and spaghetti squash. The full meal is done in 4-6 hours.

I use frozen meatballs... bottle of sweet baby rays bbq sauce, and a jar of jelly. Put it all in crockpot, and stir! They are amazing, simple, and only take a couple of hours🤷🏾‍♀️

I’ve made these a few times and they are a hit! The other recipe I used called for 1/4 cup orange juice and whole cranberry sauce along with the chili sauce, But I’m sure they’ll taste great this way too!

Why don’t you just bake them? It takes about 20 min and then just warm up the sauce in a stove pot and throw them in there. Key to good meatballs is the fresh herbs, a mixture between beef and pork (unless you can’t have pork) and a table spoon or two of sour cream. It’s best to always brown them but I just place them on a none stick cookie sheet with parchment paper.
