It's really just depends! Are you talking maternity or nursing. If you plan on nursing then yes invest. Maternity, not necessary unless you outgrow your cup size in your regular bras. If you need a larger size around back then invest in some adjuster things. They give you another set of hooks to add more length. $5 at walmart for a pack of 3 (black, white, nude).

My friend just uses regular bras I out grew my regular bras quickly and gave her my old bras since she grew into them. I don't know how she feels about using them or if she does because they were free and fit. I know for me I needed new bras and I just ordered nursing bras. This is my first so I don't know the pros and cons I just imagine it being easier to nurse with them, and if you have smaller boobs they can be pretty cheap. I know I would try both if I could.

Not sure if maternity and nursing bras are the same, but my nursing bra I bought at the beginning of this pregnancy are so comfy.  I will keep buying them even after I am done breast feeding Lol.

Not specifically maternity, but I bought padded sports bras in a size up to get me through pregnancy. Anything with an underwire is very painful by the end of the day. I wear scrubs for work, so it's not noticable.
