I think you should go!  Is the a hospital somewhere around where this is taking place,  just in case?  Are you just going for the end of it or the whole thing?

Situation - my husband has been training for his first Ironman longer than I've been pregnant.  If you don't know, an Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a full marathon - 26.2 mile run.  He puts in 20-30 hours of training a week and he's hoping to finish this race in 12-13 hours.  I am super supportive of his racing since I understand and do half marathons myself.  I understand the time, training and dedication so if he misses the birth, I won't even be mad.  My mom is pinch hitting- I'll just be more sad if I won't get to see him finish this huge accomplishment.  He was super emotional after finishing his first Half Ironman and couldn't hold onto me tight enough after he finished.... I know it will be even more emotional after this first full Ironman.  I can just keep hoping she comes soon, my first came at almost 37 weeks naturally at a fatty 7 pounds so really praying for a miracle here.  🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

That's a tough one. It kind of goes both ways. What is he doing that's more important than the possibility of you going into labor? If you're comfortable with the possibility of delivering two hours away then go for it. I think it would be easier for him to drive the two hours if you go into labor than you drive two hours to deliver. Driving and hitting bumps on the road is the last thing you want to deal with for two hours if you go into labor. I had to drive an hour to get to the hospital with my first. I don't know what was worse, driving there in labor or driving that long on the way home with 8 stitches in my girly bits from tearing. 😅
