The "no lying on your back" thing...

mo

I had my anatomy scan today (all was fine), and when the ultrasound tech pointed out my baby's vena cava, I casually mentioned how I have to worry about my own vena cava so I sleep on my side... Common knowledge, right? Well, the tech was like "ehhh not really."

And then I talked to my Dr about it afterwards. She said you can sleep on your back as much as you want, until your body tells you to stop, which is usually in the 3rd trimester, because it'll just be too uncomfortable. She talked about how women have had babies for forever and no one ever told them not to sleep on their backs... They slept however they felt comfortable sleeping and everyone survived...

She also said that I should probably not put a lot of value into things baby apps tell me and just ask my actual doctor. ;)

Thought I'd share for those like me who may worry a bit too much!
