What do you say?

Question

Most common question I get after 4 years of marriage.... Why don't you have kids yet? Or When are you having kids?.....

Not everyone wants to hear I've lost 2 and been trying for a year and a half and on fertility pills and still unable to conceive so I just say we will eventually and life is just busy right now....

If I'm feeling ok I say it will happen when it happens. If I'm feeling angry I tell people it's none of their business!

It zings a little inside but I usually say "when we are blessed." Then in an aside quietly to whoever asked I often will tell the truth (2 losses) and that we are hopeful because people don't realize how painful that question is and I would like to spare other people and frankly its noones business. I'm sorry for your losses.

"None of your damn business!?" Lol but really if they are uncomfortable with hearing the truth then they shouldn't feel comfortable asking that question!

I have had 4 losses in 14 months and two years of TTC with fertility assistance this past year. Most people are good with not asking too much and then Saturday night someone I just met asked me three times " You don't have any children ? No way you don't have kids ? Seriously no kids ? I joked it off because I was having a good night  and didn't want to ruin the night but it bothered me for a couple of days afterwards. She just had no clue how innappropriate it was to show her surprise like that. Sending hugs and support your way.
