When should I take out my belly ring?

I switched out my belly ring today and noticed the top hole is a little red and irritated, but it doesn't hurt. My skin doesnt seem stretched yet. Im 17w2d. When did you take out yours?

I took mine out as soon as I got pregnant. I'm glad I did because the hole is so malformed now and the skin is very soft around it.

well you have a few options. you could get a bendy pregnant ring designed specifically for pregnancy, you could keep it in for awhile longer, or take it out.
I got my piercing when I was 18 and within weeks of finding out about my pregnancy (now 27), I took it out. I'm grateful I did because now at 34 weeks, the piercing skin is DEFINITELY stretching and is sometimes painful! I see some women post about their peircings actually TEARING! 
so personally, id suggest keeping an eye on it. take it out if it's uncomfortable, but keep the skin hydrated with lotion or oil or whatever you want to use to aid in whatever stretching occurs. good luck!

They have pregnancy ones if you don’t want to take it out, but if it’s irritated at all you should remove it, tea tree oil will help as well 💜

I'm 29 weeks and have a maternity bar in which is plastic and I cannot tell it's in. I wouldn't ever pierce my belly button again so I dont wanna lose the hole by taking it out. Xx

Whenever it feels uncomfortable or looks like a problem I'd say. I'm 15 weeks and probably won't take mine own for at least a few more weeks. I'm not showing much yet though, and everyone is different.

Depending on the hospital if you leave it in they make make you remove it during labor since its metal I switched all my piercings to plastic ones and still had to remove them at the hospital

I’m 24+3 and I still have mine in I want to leave it in the whole time but we’ll see. I had to change mine to a plastic one cause metal has been irritating and swelling my skin I had to put plastic lip rings in to 😬😩
