spotting before placebo pill week

i am at the stage of using birth control where i’m having weird symptoms because my body is getting used to it all. i’m about six months in. right now i’m on vacation and i started slightly spotting right after my boyfriend ate me out. i didn’t think much of it. it continued for the next few days, and that has been confusing. i took my last real pill of birth control yesterday and i start the placebo pills tonight. i generally start my period on the third day of placebo pills and i’ve never spotted before my period, but i have had weird symptoms due to my birth control for a while. is this normal for anyone else? i’m just worried it could mean something else (i highly doubt its pregnancy because my boyfriend and i haven’t had sex in over a month) and just wanted some insight :)
