Did I test too early or did I not release an egg

I had this discharge for only one day and that was the 29th of December. I just tested tonight and the result was negative. Is this just random discharge or is this fertile cm? We baby danced all around this time too. Did I test too early? Today is the 13th of January? I have been having off and on cramping. A couple nights in a row I had such consistent cramps I thought I was getting my period. Then they just went away and nothing. I have been having more cm the usual. Thick creamy like lotion and a few times it was a light tint of pink which I though was implantation. What do you guys think.
