Anyone else dislike breastfeeding?

My baby is almost 7 weeks. I’ve struggled with a low supply so we’ve had to supplement with formula and that has really discouraged me. However, I don’t feel the way so many people say they do while breastfeeding. I mean, I don’t hate breastfeeding, it doesn’t bother me. I just don’t feel that emotional connection that others mothers talk about. I guess you could say I’m neutral about it. Anyone else feel this way?

I don’t feel the connection either. I mean, I love being able to provide for my son, but  not like “ohhh such a bond we have”. I do love when he looks up at me and grins though. That melts my heart ❤️

Breastfeeding has been a headache and I’m only 3 weeks pp. I have to use a nipple shield and now LO is cluster feeding and is on the boob for 1-2 hours. My boobs are constantly sore so I’ve been pumping to let hubby feed and give my boobs a break. I actually feel more of a connection bottle feeding him my milk because I’m not writhing in pain waiting for it to be over.

Baby only breastfeed he didn’t want the formula. I didn’t feel the connection after a while. I guess the stress play a role on it.

In my opinion, the connection grows as you keep doing it and baby gets older! Babies learn how to do it fast and more efficiently, and they also start to express how much they love it

Absolutely. I’m going on 7 months and I never felt the magic I was “supposed too.” I do it only because I think it’s the best choice for the little one.

I said no, but only because I’ve been very fortunate.. the one thing that almost got me to give up though is that my son had a severe tongue tie and breastfeeding HURT.. like more than it should.. I dreaded the feedings because of how bad they hurt.. luckily now he’s gotten it fixed we’re on a roll.. it’s totally ok to not want to continue breastfeeding, especially if it’s impacting you

I felt the same way. I’m happy both my daughter’s are formula fed. I have no shame. They are healthy and smart girls. I feel comfortable and stress free

It depends. I EBF for 10 months. From there I add on a bottle of formula here and there with BF and then completely start to stop at 12 months. I love being able to provide my babies with that one of a kind liquid gold and to bond with them (they develop that bond too). At the same time, after being pregnant for 9 months and breastfeeding for 12 months, I’m always excited to get my body back as well as a little more independence.

Anyone else dislike breastfeeding?
