Can I take a bath?!?! C section. 3 weeks post op.

I'm three weeks post op and dyingto take a bath. My incision seem to have healed pretty good. I got my steak without two weeks ago. But they said no bath till 6 weeks!!! Why?!?

They told me no bath for 6 weeks also. She said my cervix could still be open for that amount of time and she didn't want "dirty" bath water entering the vagina or uterine area because it could possibly cause an internal infection. I want a bath so bad too!

So bath tubs and toilets have been swabbed for bacteria before. Guess which one was dirtier? Yep, the bath tub!! Even if the stitches look like they're healed, they're probably not completely healed on a microscopic level. Would you bathe in your toilet? Nope! Definitely keep clear of the bacteria filled tub for now. And maybe bleach it really well when you're 6 weeks are up haha

Hi :) I had my c-section on August 17th and I was told I could have a bath as long as I wasn't in for a long time. My incision is healing well :) x

I've had a c section and was told that I could bath in just water (no soaps,gels etc) as they can interfere with how fast the dissolvable stitches dissolve. They told me I could bath after a week 😋

I have no idea. They didn't mention no bath to me (I didn't ask, I only have a stand up shower). However, my incision ended up with a bad infection so I wouldn't sit in a bath right now anyway.
