If it’s your recent ex and there’s still feelings there, then no I don’t think so. You’re keeping the door open.
But if it’s been a while and the feelings are gone then you might be alright. 
One of my longest relationships is one of my good friends now. We’ve been broken up for 7 years, so time has healed us. Granted, we never stopped being friends, and we were friends before we dated, but we dated for a few years and it was hard for us to let each other go. But now I feel nothing romantic whatsoever towards him. We text almost daily though. He’s simply just a good friend.
