How far along were you when you started maternity leave?

I’m planning on stopping work on 8th Feb, I have 2 weeks holiday then my maternity pay will start the Monday before my due date. I will be 37 weeks the next day. I was off work last week due to not sleeping and just feeling exhausted! I’m back this week but really struggling with tiredness and sore back. I don’t want to sound pathetic and want to finish earlier (plus for money reasons its not great to finish earlier) just wondered what everyone else is doing

Since I'm in the US, I worked until the day I was induced. I then went back to work when my son was 7 weeks old. Only got paid for 4 of those 7 weeks.

I run cattle and farm, so I don’t get any time off. My SO will do the stuff I cannot, but it’s still my responsibility. I’ll work up until he’s born and then have SO take over for a few days.

I worked until the day I went into labor.  I got 8 weeks unpaid maternity leave so I mean 1) I wanted the extra money 2) I wanted as much time as possible with baby.   I felt fine though and had a desk job.

I’m hoping to work basically until my due date. Assuming I’ll go late. My due date is a Monday and I’m working up until the Saturday before. My leave is unpaid so I’ve saved for 12 weeks off. I want to work as long as possible with baby in there so it doesn’t eat away the time I’ll have with the baby once they’re born. And I’m a hair stylist working on my feet all day so we’ll see🤞🏻 I can make it till then!

I’m in London. I took holiday for three weeks before starting mat leave with my first. He was born on day two of my official mat leave. My second son was born three weeks early so I hadn’t started mat leave. I had one days holiday before he arrived 😂

With my 1st, I worked up untim the day I was induced. I work in the hospital so I clovked out and walked over to L&D. This time I'm having q scheduled c section and I'm starting ny leave 2 days before that so I can get my house clean and organized. My maternity leave is unpaid so I want to spend as much time of it actually with my baby as possible.

I live in the US, so our maternity leave situation stinks. However, I will be taking an “early” maternity leave, as I do not plan to return to work. “Early” meaning 3 weeks before my due date. Most women work up until labor though, and it’s incredibly sad.

I stayed home when i was 34 weeks, but we need to stay home min 30 days before the due date otherwise we will loose some money. Overall we have the right to stay home since week 30.
When we stay home we get 140days 100% paid (you will get the full money in front), those 140 days are considered as  “sick leave” and when those 140 days are over then maternity leave will start- 1 year 100% monthly paid, based on your last year salary.
