Bulging water...how much longer?

38+4 today. Finally at 3cm dilated (was at a 2 for several weeks) and was told that my water bag is bulging.

For those of you who were told this at some point as well, did you have the baby soon after? Did your water break before the delivery?

I’m absolutely miserable and my first was born a week and 5 days earlier so my body isn’t sure how to cope and I can’t handle the pain in every position I’m in. Can’t walk, sit, lay down, etc without extreme pain and I’m hoping the end is near.
