What to buy 1 year old nephew?

We missed Christmas because our dog had a medical emergency and now I'm wanting to make up for it and send my nephew a gift. I dont have any kids and have no idea what to buy for a 1 year old... I asked his mom and she had no suggestions! Help!

Books, learning toys, the crayons no mess markers and color packets are amazing. Idk  what your nephew is able to do at 1, my daughter was walking and everything, she got a tablet her 1st birthday, a little battery 4wheeler, a balance bike, one of those little personal trampolines. Little hard puzzles with the knobs things like that

OoOooo my son LOVED crayon eggs for coloring.. he liked duplos.. touch and feel books.. chalk and colored construction paper.. ofcourse things like cars and trucks and dinos.. as an ex- educator I prefer educational things that focused on motor development and social emotional things...  
If he needs a great educational youtube channel Steve and Maggie was a huge hit with us.. so a little bit of everything :)
