What numbers are dangerously high in pregnancy?

I had been controlling my gestational diabetes with diet. Five days ago I was prescribed prednisone for my low platelet count and now my sugars have been high. What sugar levels are dangerous for my baby?

Did your doctor or dietitian tell you or give you info on numbers? I’ve found that different doctors like different numbers. For me, i need to stay at or below 120 each meal. If i have a reading of 150 or higher two times back to back i need to go into the hospital.

The steroid made them numbers go up. Once your off they will normally return back to were they started. Perdisone also makes you crave sugar so watch yourself.

I’m supposed to stay under 95 for fasting and under 140 one hour after meals. But not everyone has the same numbers. For me they used a chart with percentiles. My baby is average in size and weight. If it was large already, according to the chart, I would be given lower numbers (120 after meals and also something lower for fasting, 90 or so?). Some babies are also on the really low end of the scale, so their moms get higher numbers. But if you have DB, don’t you have someone helping you with the diet part? I would check in with them and explain what the meds are doing. It may mean that you need different meds or insulin or some other solution to fix the problem.
