I didn't get any newborn clothes at first, but then we found out that baby is going to be small--about 6-7 pounds or so--a lot of family members bought newborn clothes as shower gifts, so that pretty much took care of that for us, we got a few extra onesies because they go through so many clothes

My son was born at 8 lbs 9 oz and wore newborn clothes for about 2 weeks, and that was pushing it. I wouldn't invest in too many.

There's no guarantee your baby will ever even fit into newborn clothes. My best friend's son was born weighing 9lb 2oz and was too big for newborn clothes. My son was born weighing 6lb 8oz and fit into newborn clothes for three weeks and even then we didn't change his outfit every day.

I wouldn't even get newborn outfits they grow so fast! And they might be to big to even got into them at birth!! I would get 0-3 months to start off with.

A few white onesies in newborn size and maybe a couple cute outfits for going out the house. But they don't stay little for long so don't splurge too much!

My niece was born two months ago she weighed right under 8 pounds. We were expecting her to wear the
0-3 month clothing since she was on the heavier side yet that was NOT the case. We had to buy NB outfits and she is just now getting into the 0-3 month cloths. I hope that helps!! :)
